Turn information technology off, open the lever to stop the menstruum, fill the intake all the mode, close the lever to start the menses, when the canister is full, turn it dorsum on.

I will tell you it takes MUCH More than to make full that darn canister. I hate it when I accept to reprise my Rena's. They are such a PIA!

I completely hold with Steph. It e'er takes much more water to prime number than i would actually think. Once information technology gets going, it works like a charm, though!

Gosh I finally got it!! cheers ya all I tried over and over and information technology running now. It took me ii hours. this is my first canister filter so its all new to me. I have never had anymore than hob filters and undergravels . Then the dang affair came used with no directions and I knew it had to be primed merely had no idea what the heck I was doing. Just Yes!!! i GOT It thanks AGAIN. when I get the tank articulate sick mail service pics. Its a 90 gal. Im gonna put some angels cories and plecos in it for now. I take information technology in the bar at my resataurant. btw information technology will be w eek or and so befor I exercise. It was taken down and set support with aforementioned filter media but Ill still wait it out to make sure information technology doesnt go into a big cycle.

I but gear up up a 2nd XP3 last week - My 1st one took ages too fill up and prime, I learnt though, so this time I filled up the canister with tank water (with all media and baskets in) , then put the hat on. With the lever up I primed the hose, then lowered the lever and turned it on - much faster to become going.

Here's a little trick for repriming any canister filter with a quick disconnect set up, as long as you're doing it in conjunction with a water change. Remove enough water to completely expose the discharge of the filter without exposing the intake siphon. Disconnect and service the filter, but do non put any h2o into it. Reconnect the quick disconnect and watch and listen as the canister fills itself and the belch hose to the level of the h2o in the tank. Plug it in and refill the tank. Works every fourth dimension unless air somehow gets into the organisation. Y'all can't fight physics!

I call up the trick is to brand sure the in hose doesn't have a sag in it.
